Spring Break Traditions!!! (chpt.1)

For the last 6 years we have spent spring break at Grand Targhee, a beautiful ski resort in Wyoming. We love this tradition and look forward to it all year long. I have so many fun pictures documenting our many Targhee traditions! So many, that I'm sharing them in stages! Here is chapter one........sledding! Keep in mind that after I saw these pictures..... next year I will be more of the photographer and let Lou be in more of the photo shoot! In my defense.....it was a steep hill that turned you every which way, it was really, really fun.....and scary!

We were having so much fun sledding, we didn't notice Justin was busy climbing a small mountain of powdered snow! That is until we heard shouts,
"I'm stuck and I can't find my boot!"
Mac to the rescue, big brothers come in really handy.

A really good ending, to a really good day.

I'm FIVE!!!!!!

FIVE YEARS OLD!
Justin has been waiting to be five-(a whole hand,) for months!

Justin had quite the time blowing out his candles.
He was trying so hard! As we were eating the cake,
we wondered if he had given the cake a little "shower"??
After looking closely at these pictures,
we got our answer!
It's so much fun to give Justin a gift!
He gets excited about anything you give him!
We had a fun family celebration, including a....

~PINATA~

We also enjoyed spending the day playing,
"good guy-bad guy"...
and listening to a few tunes on Justin's new guitar!

We love our 5 year old!
And our five year old... loves being 5!!
Although, I did hear him tell Gracie...
"It's OK if you are still little, your pprrretty big!
I think your amazing and being 3... is cool too!"
Justin often says , "Mom, what can I do for you?"
Hmmm, how about staying 5.... forever!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

GO PATRIOTS!!!

The State Tournament was the ending of a great wrestling season.
We felt such support, as both sets of grandparents were able to attend.
In fact, Lou and I were the ones late! I will blame it on us having the longest distance to travel. It was actually a shorter distance for the grandparents then for us!
I am continually AMAZED at the dedication of the athletes in this sport. My brother Justin, who is in his 3rd year of Dental school, has been asked why Dental school seems so easy for him?
His reply......"because I was a wrestler".
The mental and physical discipline learned,
are life changing.
The end of season party was a definite highlight
to an already great season.
Here are just a few of the great kids,
(and amazing coach,)
this team was packed with.
Looking forward to next year and another season of Patriot wrestling!
Go patriots!

We win the contest...sorry, it's a "brag" post!

If there was a contest for the BEST Grandparents.......we would win, hands down. I'm sorry I really don't mean to brag...... but I MUST!! During the State Tournament we were lucky to have BOTH sets of amazing parents/grandparents with us. All day wrestling tournaments are NOT the most entertaining event for siblings to attend......especially when 2 of the siblings are toddlers! In between matches Grandma and pa B showed the kids a great time. It was a treat for them and for Lou and I, as we could just sit back and relax,
(as much as you can relax at a wrestling tournament!)

The kids then had a great time building snow caves.
We were amazed that the cold-
didn't seem to bother them!
(maybe it did Gracie a bit...
she did have to change out of her swimsuit for IF weather.)
Going to Idaho Falls and Orem,
to Grandma and Grandpa's house,
is a trip my kids look forward to the most.
They didn't even seem to mind
missing some wrestling matches!

Lou and I would also win the "in-law" contest. Lou's parents invited mine to stay the night and were gracious hosts as usual. It really was fun being together. Not only do they get along, but they enjoy each other! It's the best of both worlds for Lou and I when we get them both at the same time!

I had to post these photos of Justin playing Lego Starwars with Grandpa Whiting. Justin's expressions say it all. My boys are still talking about how funny Grandpa was when playing . ( I guess he isn't very good.) I don't think I have EVER heard such laughter during an XBOX game!
Thank you Grandpa and Grandma
Whiting and Buhrley,
for making it such a great weekend.
